Recycle Rush: Week One

Week one is all about prototyping. The team split up into groups again and were assigned specific functions of the robot to come up with suitable mechanisms for. At the beginning of each day, the entire team met, discussed what was accomplished the previous day, and set new goals for upcoming days.

During prototyping, students learn a lot from mentors and peers. Many new members may be using electric saws and mills for the first time. While working in a group of different students with different ideas, students learn valuable teamwork skills that will come in handy later on in the season when more specific designs for the robot must be agreed upon.
